I never knew Julie except for her appearance on Sunday Morning but have not forgotten her and I don’t think I ever will. How she lived through her childhood with such heart and tenacity and then to face her illness with the same strengths is so amazing to me. I send my love and condolences to her family.

I wish I could be there to celebrate the life of this amazing woman. I didn’t know Julie in real life, just through her blog. She made such a big impact on me through her words, and I will terribly miss seeing that email “new blog post by Julie Yip-Williams”. Josh, I know you must be so proud to call her your wife. I hold you and your beautiful daughters in my heart.
Is there anyway Julie’s service could be recorded so those of us not able to be there could view/listen to it?
    Much Love

I am half a world away, but I will be there in spirit. Juli’s blog has given me so much admiration for her, and courage for myself. Blessings to all your family, including Julie’s soul.

I read Julie’s obituary in The New York Times and noted that she had a blog. So I knew when the end of her story was, and I found her blog. She became alive to me when I read her posts. I watched the videos. I am so sad that such a fine Mom, writer, and person is no longer with us.

I will miss reading her posts, although I can always return to her blog. I will miss reading posts from the erudite The Astonishing FMan. I can only imagine how much Josh, Mia, Belle and Chipper will miss her.

I am living with cancer, although it is skin cancer, different from Julie’s, and so far, I am staying on top of it (fingers crossed as I write this). Julie did not allow the cancer to win. She is indomitable. Her body took everything that cancer had to dish out, and she did not allow it to define her. She is now onto her next adventure.

Goodbye, Julie. I wish I could have known you more.

Dear Joshua, I hope this gets to you, let me know, ok? First of all, thank you so much for your donation to Wilderness Inquiry in Julie’s memory. It really is a wonderful organization doing great things for people from all walks of life, including thousands of teens in cities throughout the country. I also just read a very complimentary review in Book Page, giving Julie’s book a Top Pick designation. We have a small, but active, library here in Marine on St. Croix, and we just ordered her book for our collection. And I’m getting my personal copy ASAP. I have to tell you how pleased I was to see that review. I’ve known all along that Julie’s writing was something special. In case you don’t know, I led a WI trip with Julie to the South Island of New Zealand quite a few years ago. But I’ve never forgotten that trip and the impact Julie had on me. So thank you, once again. Bill Simpson, P.O. 72, Marine on St. Croix, MN 55047
